For local phone traders
Get local phones sent straight to your pocket.
People across East Anglia send PhoneLink their phone with photos. You get an alert, make an offer from your phone, and if the seller picks you, you collect it from their door. No listing fees, no monthly fee. You only pay £12 when a seller accepts your offer.
How it works
- Get set up. PhoneLink sends you two things: your private trader link and your alert code. Install the free ntfy app (App Store or Google Play), tap +, enter your alert code and tap Subscribe. Open your trader link once to choose your password. After that, sign in at phonelinkeast.com/login with your mobile number and password.
- Add credit. Send a bank transfer to PhoneLink using your payment reference. PhoneLink adds it to your account once it lands. You need at least £12 to get alerts.
- Get an alert. When a phone comes in you get a notification with the model, condition, faults, battery health and area. Tap it to see the full details and photos: screen on and off, back, sides, top and bottom, plus a battery health screenshot if the seller added it.
- Make an offer. Type your price and send. You've got 30 minutes and can change your offer until it closes. Other traders can't see your amount and you can't see theirs.
- Win the phone. When offers close, the seller gets the highest offer by text. If they accept, £12 comes off your credit and you get an alert straight away, with their name, number, full postcode and when to collect.
- Collect and pay. Ring the seller, go to their door, check the phone and pay them directly, by cash or bank transfer. Then tap Mark as collected and enter the IMEI and the price you paid.
At the door, every time
- Check the seller's photo ID matches the name you were given.
- Dial *#06# and check the IMEI on CheckMEND. It must not be lost, stolen or blocked.
- Make sure Find My is off and the phone is signed out of iCloud before you hand over money.
- If it isn't as described, agree a new price with the seller or walk away. Never pay if a check fails.
Questions
How much does it cost?
£12 per phone, and only when the seller accepts your offer. Making offers is free, and there's no sign-up or monthly fee.
How do I add credit?
Bank transfer to PhoneLink, using your payment reference so we know it's you, then tap I've sent it on your trader page. We check our bank and add it, usually within a few hours, and your balance shows at the top of your trader page. Most traders start with £60 (5 phones).
Can I get my credit back?
Yes, any unused credit, whenever you like. Open Withdraw credit on your trader page, enter the amount and your bank details, and we pay it within 2 working days. Fees already spent on phones you won aren't refundable, except for approved no-shows.
What if I run out of credit?
Your alerts pause automatically and any open offers stop counting. Top up and they start again. Nothing is lost.
What if the seller doesn't show up or pulls out?
Open the phone in your trader page and tap Report no-show and request refund, saying what happened. PhoneLink reviews it within 24 hours and puts the £12 back on your credit if it's genuine.
What if the phone isn't as described?
You're buying from the seller, not from PhoneLink, so you decide. Agree a fair new price based on what you can see, or walk away. If the seller misdescribed it and you walk away, report it the same way as a no-show.
Who pays the seller, and how?
You do, directly, at the door. The seller tells us whether they want cash or a bank transfer, and you'll see that on the alert. PhoneLink never holds the money for the phone.
Does the highest offer always win?
The highest offer is the one sent to the seller. If two offers are the same, the earlier one wins. The seller then decides whether to accept. If they decline, you're not charged.
Does PhoneLink buy phones too?
Yes. PhoneLink sometimes buys phones itself and can make offers alongside traders.
Which phones and areas?
iPhones for now, from the iPhone 12 to the latest models, working or faulty. Sellers are across East Anglia, and every alert shows the postcode area (e.g. NR32) so you can skip ones too far away.
How do I sign in?
Go to phonelinkeast.com/login and enter your mobile number and password. You stay signed in on your phone for 30 days. Forgotten it? Ask PhoneLink and we'll send you a new link to set a new password. Keep your alert code private too, as it shows new phones as they come in.
What do you do with sellers' details?
Use them only to collect that phone. Don't add sellers to marketing lists or pass their details on. See our privacy policy.
Can I pause alerts?
Yes. Mute the PhoneLink topic in the ntfy app, or ask PhoneLink to pause your account. Your credit stays put.
